Rev. Barbara Esterly

Rev. Barbara Easterly was ordained by Maumee Valley Presbytery in 1990. She is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains and is a graduate of Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Bethesda, MD.

Rev. Easterly is a certified Reiki Master/Teacher and a Level 1 Healing Touch Practitioner. She is also a trained Stephen’s Ministry Leader. Rev. Easterly was a chaplain at Toledo Hospital for 12 years, serving on the Congregational Nurse Project of Northwest Ohio Steering Committee, The Institutional Review Board at Toledo Hospital, President of the Toledo Area Chaplains Association and Member of the Foundation Board, Swan Creek Retirement Center. She has served as an interim pastor/head of staff for the following churches in the Toledo area: The First Presbyterian Church of Perrysburg, First Presbyterian Church of Maumee, Christ Presbyterian Church and two United Church of Christ churches. Rev. Easterly is a past Moderator of Maumee Valley Presbytery and a member of the Synod of the Covenant’s Permanent Judicial Commission.

Barbara and her husband Joe reside in Sylvania, OH. They are the parents of three adult children and have six grandchildren. Rev. Easterly is excited about returning to Christ Presbyterian Church and is looking forward to participating in worship, working with the Deacons and supporting the congregation and members on this important leg of their spiritual journey.
